The District 89 leaders 2026-2027 election is coming soon, which will be held at the Annual District Council Meeting in Zhuhai in May 2026.
89大区大区干事选举即将到来，在2026年5月珠海峰会的年度大区理事会上将举行选举仪式。
Now it's time for your nomination of the District 89 leaders 2026-2027. It’s a great opportunity to extend the leadership skills and serve members! On behalf of the District Leadership Committee (DLC), I am pleased to call for that.
现在，是你最佳的时机抓住这个提升领导力和服务会员的机会，提名下一届89大区的领导者候选人。在此，我很荣幸地代表大区领导力委员会（DLC）宣布：2026-2027 届大区领导者提名正式开始。
And the candidates' selection rules had been modified by Toastmasters International and taken effect since 2022, which has been updated on the TI website.
候选人遴选机制已于2022年由国际演讲会正式修改且已经生效，TI 在官网公布了更新版的规则。
Some of the important changes are listed here and for more details, please see the Protocol 9.0: District Campaigns and Elections, in the POLICY AND PROTOCOL, on the Governing Documents page in the TI Website.

Floor candidates for District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director, and Division Director who have completed the evaluation process conducted by the DLC are eligible to run from the floor at the Annual District Business Meeting, according to Article VII, Section (e) of the District Administrative Bylaws.
根据Article VII, Section (e) of the District Administrative Bylaws，只有完成了大区竞选委员会对候选人评估全流程的大区总监、大区教育质量总监、大区市场发展总监、中区总监的候选人才具备成为现场候选人资格。
Eligible floor candidates must declare their intent to run in writing to the District Director after the DLC report has been published and at least seven (7) days prior to the Annual District Council Meeting.
合规的现场候选人必须在正式提名候选人名单公布后，并在年度大区理事会议的七天前，以书面/邮件形式向大区总监提出现场竞选意愿。
Floor candidates must be nominated by a member of the District Council. Floor candidates may self-nominate when they are a member of the District Council.
现场候选人必须由大区理事会成员提名。只有在现场候选人本人是大区理事会成员时，才可以提名自己。
Violation of the above rule will result in ineligibility to run from the floor as a candidate for District Leader.
违反以上规则将导致不能具备参选资格。

2 Qualification Check, Interview, Evaluation & Voting
资格审核、面试、评估和投票
Time: Feb. 1, 2026 to Feb. 28, 2026

District Leadership Committee will arrange a 30-45 minutes' interview with each qualified candidate. Candidate interview will be conducted in English.

3 Report Nominating Result 公布提名结果
Time: Before April 15，2026
时间：2026年4月15日前。
The District Leadership Committee will then decide on official nominated candidates and submit this report to the District Director Eragon Fong.

District will then announce the result of DLC Committee Report.

03 Q & A 常见问题
Q1. What's the difference between an officially nominated candidate and a floor candidate?
正式提名候选人和现场候选人有什么区别？
All candidates must 所有的候选人必须:

Be nominated before Jan 31. 2026 (including self-nomination)

Have completed the evaluation process conducted by the DLC.
完成大区领导力委员会的面试
After the evaluation, DLC will decide official nominated candidates. Those who haven't been nominated are eligible to run as floor candidates.
面试结束后，大区领导力委员会将决定正式提名候选人，未被大区领导力委员会正式提名的候选人可以成为现场候选人。
If any position does not have or has insufficient number of candidates, any member who meets the qualifications for the position may run from the floor in the election directly without going through the DLC process.
如遇竞选职位有空缺或人数不足，任何符合该职位基本资格的会员可以进行现场提名，无须经过大区领导力委员会流程。
There are no other types of candidates.
除此之外，没有其它类型的候选人。
At least four weeks prior to the election date, the DLC report and biographical forms will be emailed to all members of the District Council and posted on the District website.
在大区选举日至少四周前，大区领导力委员会（DLC）的报告和候选人履历表格将通过电子邮件发送给大区理事会所有成员，并同时发布于大区官网上。
Eligible floor candidates shall declare their intent to run in writing to the District Director Eragon Fong after the DLC report has been published and at least seven (7) days prior to the Annual Meeting of the District Council.

Nominated or floor candidates may stand for a maximum of two elective District officer positions at the Annual Meeting of the District Council.

All positions must be held by members of Toastmasters clubs in good standing. For the responsibilities and qualifications of each of these leadership position, please refer to the file of District Leader Qualifications and Responsibilities.

Q4. How to get Club Alignment for Division Director Candidates?
中区总监候选人如何获取大区分区方案相关信息？
The alignment plan for the Year 2026–2027 in District 89 is currently under evaluation, with two possible options:
2026-2027年度89大区分区方案有两种可能：
1. Maintain the current six (6) Divisions, incorporating newly chartered clubs.
仍为6个中区，保持在现有基础上增加新增分会。
2. Expand to seven (7) Divisions by adding one new Division.
增加1个中区，扩展到7个中区。
A draft alignment plan will be available in early February 2026. For inquiries, please contact the District Director, Eragon Fong.

By April 2026, the final alignment plan — whether maintaining six (6) or expanding to seven (7) Divisions — will be proposed to the District Council. The recommendation will be based primarily on membership renewals and the chartering of new clubs.

All Division Director candidates must clearly declare the Division they intend to run for when submitting their applications.

To run from the floor, candidates must declare in writing which Division Director position they intend to run for, and submit this declaration to District Director Eragon Fong at least seven (7) days prior to the Annual Meeting of the District Council.

Please note that upon approval of a new Division or new Divisions, at the Annual Meeting of the District Council, candidates who have gone through the DLC interview process, for any Division, are eligible to run from the floor for the new Division or Divisions. In this circumstance, the requirement to declare intent prior to the Annual Meeting of the District Council is waived.
请注意，如果在年度理事会上才被投票出增加了新的中区，那么所有已经完成大区领导力委员会面试流程的候选人，无论其之前声明的竞选的中区是哪一个，均有资格以现场候选人的身份参选新部门或多个新部门。在此情况下，无须在大区年度理事会前7天告知参选意向。

To endorser 提醒背书人
• District executive committee members shall not take any action to endorse or officially support any district officer candidates.
大区执行委员会成员（大区总监、教育质量总监、市场发展总监、中区总监、小区总监、上任大区总监）不应为任何大区领导力候选人背书或提供正式支持。
• Advertisements in district publications, such as newsletters, at conference programs, or on websites by or on behalf of candidates for district leaders are not permitted.
不允许的支持的形式包括但不限于：在大区信息发布渠道（例如公众号、大区网站、邮件、峰会宣传群组、大区干事群、大区会长群等）为大区领导力候选人作广告宣传。
• District nomination and election processes are governed by Toastmasters District Bylaws, which can be found in Toastmasters Governing Documents, Protocol 9.0.
