From August 19-22, 2026, Toastmasters International held its 2026 International Convention in Vancouver, Canada. The highlight of the event—the Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony—took place on the evening of August 22 (local time). The ceremony honoured Districts and District Leaders who delivered exceptional performance over the year. District 89 was proud to receive 5prestigious awards, marking a historic achievement for our community.
2026年8月19日至22日，国际演讲会（Toastmasters International）2026国际峰会在加拿大温哥华举行。荣誉殿堂颁奖典礼在当地时间22日晚上举行。所有做出杰出成绩的大区和大区干事们得到了表彰。89大区荣获其中 5 项殊荣。

Smedley Distinguished District
大区最高荣誉
To earn the title of “Smedley Distinguished District” in Toastmasters, the District must meet the following criteria:
(1). 8% increase of membership payments base;
(2). 8% net club growth; and
(3). Distinguished clubs equal to at least 60% of the District’s club base.
达成“斯梅德利杰出大区” 称号条件：
(1). 会员付费基数增长8%；
(2). 分会数量净增长达到8%；及
(3). 至少有 60% 的分会被评为 “杰出分会”
Congratulations to our District 89 District Director 2025-2026 Eragon Fong DTM and his team: Program Quality Director Rainbow LEE DTM, and Club Growth Director Rita XU DTM, on receiving the Smedley Distinguished District Award, which is the highest recognition in District Level Award, in recognition of their superior achievement and dedicated leadership.

President’s 20-Plus Award
总会长分会人数 20+ 奖
The “President’s 20-Plus Award” celebrates those Districts that successfully motivate their clubs to achieve and maintain charter strength. The Districts with a high percentage of active clubs with 20 or more paid members at year-end receive this award.
“总会长分会人数 20+ 奖” 旨在表彰成功激励所属分会实现并保持创会人数要求的大区。年终时，活跃分会中拥有二十名或以上付费会员比例较高的大区将获得此奖项。
Congratulations to our District 89 District Director 2025-2026 Eragon Fong DTM, on receiving the “President’s 20-Plus Award” in recognition of successfully inspiring clubs to achieve and maintain the charter strength with 60.87% of clubs with 20-plus members.

Congratulations to Eragon Fong DTM, District 89 Director (2025–2026), on being honored with the President’s Extension Award. This accolade celebrates his outstanding commitment to club extension and retention. Under his leadership, District 89 achieved a net growth of 17 clubs, a net growth rate of 17.35%, and a club growth rate securing the #1 rank worldwide.

The Program Quality Directors receive District Program Quality Award when:
(1) 85% of District Officers attend training; and
(2) meet Distinguished goals in number of Distinguished clubs.

The Club Growth Directors in Districts that meet Distinguished goals in club and membership payments growth receive the “District Club Growth Award”.

From the second half of 2025, a series of large-scale exchange events were successfully held across Macau, Hong Kong, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Maoming, Zhanjiang, Sanya, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, and Shantou. Through featured speeches, leadership, and communication workshops, we showcased the professional excellence of Toastmasters and the vibrant spirit of our members to the wider community.
2025年下半年于澳门、香港、珠海、中山、江门、茂名、湛江、三亚、福州、泉州及汕头等城市陆续举办大型交流盛会。透过示范演讲、领导力及沟通力工作坊，向社会展现国际演讲会的专业形象与会员风采。

Education & Marketing Initiatives

Featuring diverse formats such as outdoorteam-building, "Dialogue with Champions" online learning columns, the "21-Day Mastery of Public Speaking", and World Champion sharing sessions, these initiatives enriched the learning ecosystem and strengthened the cohesion of District 89.
